Immunisations and advice are available through our Travel Service.
You should allow a minimum of 12 weeks to enable vaccination courses to be completed.
You can complete an eConsult – and then select ‘Travel Advice’
Alternatively you can ask reception to send you an SMS or if required, you can collect a paper form from reception
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out an eConsult , SMS or paper form before coming to see the nurse.
You will have a telephone appointment initially to discuss all your travel arrangements, then if required a follow up face to face appointment for the vaccinations.
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – we will be unable to offer travel appointments to anyone travelling with less than (12 weeks) prior to their departure date as in some cases a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to complete a course of vaccinations.
Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.
Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
There is still no guarantee we will be able to accommodate your travel request as we have limited capacity if you do give us a minimum of 12 weeks notice. You may need to need to book an appointment at a private travel clinic.
- Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
