Travel vaccinations

When planning a trip abroad, please complete a Travel Health Assessment form which can either be collected from reception or downloaded from our web site.

At the time of handing in the completed form an appointment will be made for a twenty minute consultation with the Practice Nurse.

If, after the nurse has completed the assessment no vaccinations are required, the nurse will contact the patient by phone to give general advice, and the appointment will be cancelled.

The nurses are unable to discuss travel by phone prior to the booked appointment.

Some vaccinations require three doses to complete a course prior to travel. Please allow 8 - 10 weeks for completion of schedules, and to ensure that vaccinations have become effective before departure.

Please note that some vaccinations are not provided by the NHS and a fee will be charged. No malaria tablets are available on the NHS - they must be paid for on a private prescription. Options and prices will be discussed at the nurse consultation.

Toner cartridges

We currently send all of our used computer toner cartridges to the RNIB and have agreed to place the collection box in the reception area so that patients can also put their used cartridges and old mobile phones in it.

15 year old boosters

Invitations are being sent out to patients who we have identified as needing a booster of Diphtheria/tetanus and Polio and possibly a second dose of MMR (Mumps/Measles/Rubella).
