Changes to Pre-school boosters

Children due their pre-school boosters (aged 3½ upwards) will in future be offered a Hib booster. The good news is that this will be part of a combined vaccine and will not mean another jab. The programme will therefore include a vaccination containing Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Pertussis and Hib as well as an MMR booster.

Those children born after 13.3.2003 who have already had their pre-school booster will be invited back to have a Hib/Meningitis C booster. The catch up programme will be phased in over the next 12 months.

There has been an increase in the number of cases of Measles reported over the summer and we do strongly recommend parents take up the MMR vaccinations.

Change in Doctors

Dr Hattersley has now completed her year's placement as GP Registrar here, passing her course with distinction. She will occasionally return to provide locum cover. We would like to welcome our new registrar, Dr Hasham Ahmad.

Changes to reception staff

There have been a number of changes in our reception team recently and we are training new staff as quickly as possible. However the role is more complicated than many patients realise and we would ask for your understanding while our new staff become familiar with the demands of their jobs. We are looking at ways of improving how we meet patient needs and ensuring that we offer the best possible service to you.

Preston Candover Clinics

(Mondays and Fridays)

There will not be a surgery on the following dates: 8 and 12 October. Patients are reminded to call the surgery if intending to attend the surgery.

Flu clinics

We have been assured that our vaccines will be delivered on time this year, those who qualify for the free jabs are strongly recommended to have it.

For those who cannot make above dates or have difficulty queuing we will be running several pre-booked clinics from late October - patients can contact us after 16 October to make an appointment.

You should have a flu vaccination if you were 64 or over on 1st April this year or if you have one or more of the following:
