For safety reasons the Hospital is asking all patients to have their blood tests taken Monday to Thursday whenever possible. By leaving a test until Friday there is limited time to act if a reading is high potentially putting a patient at risk.
Many of the private services we provide including medicals for insurance applications or driving and reports for insurance claims have, from 1st May, become chargeable for VAT. These services were previously treated as exempt for VAT but we now have to add the tax to our fees.
There will not be a surgery on Monday 11 June.
Patients who feel that they need their ears syringing should instil olive oil drops into the ears(s) for at least 10 days. This makes the procedure easier and safer. If you are unsure of how to instil oil into the ear canal please collect instructions from reception. It is advisable to book the syringing appointment when commencing oiling so as to avoid disappointment.
Patients are able to pre-book a telephone appointment with a doctor for issues that do not need to be seen in person e.g. to discuss a test result. This can be convenient for the patient and an efficient use of a doctor's time. Please ask our receptionist for a telephone appointment if this would be appropriate for your care.
