Flu jab dates - Changes to advertised clinics

Because of delays manufacturing this years flu vaccine we will not receive our supplies until mid October - after we had planned to run the clinics advertised in last months edition. We have been forced to change our clinic dates which will now be as follows:

• Alresford Surgery from 1.00 - 2.30 on:
  • Tuesday 18 October;
  • Wednesday 19 October;
  • Thursday 3 November
• Preston Candover 9.15 - 10.00 on:
  • Thursday 3 November

For patients who are unable to make these clinics we will be running further sessions - dates will be announced later.

Patients who qualify and should have a flu jab are those groups listed below:

• If you are 65 or over or have:
• A chronic heart or chest complaint including asthma
• Chronic kidney disease or Liver disease
• Diabetes
• Lowered immunity due to disease or treatment such as steroid medication or cancer treatment
• Any other serious medical condition - check with your doctor if you are unsure
• If you are a carer for an elderly or disable person
• You live in a old people's or nursing home

Blood tests

Because of an increasing number of patients arriving in pathology, both here at the surgery and at the hospital, which is causing delays and stress on patients and staff alike, patients are reminded of the importance of arriving with their request form or warfarin book. Failure will, unfortunately, result in the patient being refused the test.
