Asthma ClinicWe are looking to improve the way treatment is offered to patients suffering with asthma. Our Practice Nurse, Sally Dennis, is now offering reviews once a month in a special clinic or during her morning surgeries held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. It is important that patients bring their inhalers with them in order that Sally can check the patient's technique is correct. It is surprising how many patients fail to get the maximum benefit from their inhalers. Other specific advice will be given during the course of the consultation. Medication will be reviewed and extended appropriately. Patients should normally have a full review at least once a year with a mediation review every six months. We will be inviting patients to attend Sally's clinics. When your medication needs to be re-authorised please bring inhalers whether you are seeing a doctor or Sally. Repeat Prescription requestsPatients dropping in requests are asked to leave them in the post box in the surgery entrance to reduce congestion in the reception area. Requests are also taken by fax (01962 736034) or e-mail prescription@alresfordsurgery.co.uk. |
