Hib boosters

We are in the process of inviting patients to bring children of 4 and under to have a Hib booster. As there are over 200 children to call it would be greatly appreciated if every effort can be made to attend the appointment allocated.

Flu clinics

We strongly recommend that the following people have this free vaccination:

  • Everyone who will be 65 or over by 31st December
  • All those with chromic respiratory disease
  • Patients who have been diagnosed with Asthma and need regular use of inhaled or systemic steroids.
  • All patients who have diabetes
  • Patients with renal disease
  • Patients who have immunosuppression.

The main clinic dates are:

Wednesday 1st October 2.00 - 3.30
Wednesday 8th October 2.00 - 3.30
Thursday 9th October 2.00 - 3.00
Thursday 16th October 2.00 - 3.00

Preston Candover Village Hall - Thursday 9th October 9.00-10.00 (the normal doctors surgery will run as usual).

There will be additional clinics later in October and November for those that cannot make these times but dates have not yet been finalised.

Dispensary

We welcome Tracy Greenfield our new dispensary manager. The dispensary is now open and available to dispense to patients living more than a mile away from a pharmacy. Patients who agree to have medications dispensed by the surgery do have the choice to use our dispensary or to take their prescriptions to a chemist.

Pneumonia immunisations over 80s

We are offering a once in a life time vaccination against pneumonia to patients who will be 80 or over this year. The vaccination will be available in the flu clinics or when you see a GP or a nurse as part of a routine appointment.
