Saturday Surgeries

May we remind patients that the surgery is open Saturday mornings for urgent/emergency matters that cannot wait until Monday. Patients who need to be seen should contact the surgery after 08.30 and before 10.00am as the doctor on duty will normally be out performing home visits after this time.

Influenza

We have completed nearly 1700 flu vaccinations this year to patients over 65 and in high risk groups.

The symptoms of influenza are of high temperature, often with joint pains and mild headache, respiratory symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat and cough are also often present. If you are unfortunate enough to catch flu there is no treatment for this illness.

The symptoms can be relieved by rest, regular paracetamol and ensuring a high fluid intake. You should consult a doctor if you develop shortness of breath or chest pain.
