Routine 'phone calls

May we ask patients to contact the surgery after 10.30 for non urgent matters e.g. lab results as we are at our busiest early in the day and wish to attend to urgent calls as quickly as possible.

Watercress and Alresford surgeries Out of hours services

There are a few minor changes taking effect due to a change in the Out of Hours provider from July. We are therefore taking the opportunity to re-advise patients of the arrangements for medical cover when the surgeries are closed.

• For general advice or re-assurance 'phone NHSdirect on 0845 4647 the trained operators and nurses are able to provide advice and support for self care or direct patients to the appropriate medical.
• For emergency GP your call will be directed to Healthcall. A trained operator will initially speak to you and arrangements will be made for you to either speak to a qualified GP, for you to attend a clinic at the Badger Farm surgery in Winchester (next to Sainsbury's), or if necessary for a GP to visit you at home.
