Immunisations and advice are available through our Travel Service. Please collect a form from reception, or follow the link below to complete the form online, and then make an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses. The form should be returned to the surgery prior to your appointment . At your appointment the nurse will discuss all your travel arrangements including which countries and areas within countries you are planning to visit and she will determine which vaccinations are required. You should allow 6 weeks to enable vaccination courses to be completed. There may be a charge for certain vaccines.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as in some cases a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to complete a course of vaccinations. Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Most travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service.
